About The Tour

Iceland in March offers stunning photography opportunities with its jagged mountains, glaciers, black sand beaches, and powerful waterfalls. The Snoe cover add contrast to the volcanic landscape, while the longer nights provide a chance to capture the Northern Lights. Iconic spots like Gullfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara, and Jökulsárlón Lagoon are especially beautiful during this time. It’s a perfect blend of snow and late winter.

Our workshop covers iconic spots like Vík, Reynisfjara, Skógafoss, and hidden gems, plus Skaftafell National Park and Vatnajökull Glacier’s ice caves. We’ll also capture Vestrahorn and Eystrahorn peaks. With the solar maximum, we’ll have great chances for the aurora  hours. Flexibility is key as we chase the perfect shots in ever-changing weather.

  • DSLR or Mirrorless Camera
The ideal camera for this work will offer full manual control, ensuring precise exposure adjustments for optimal results. With interchangeable lenses, it will provide the flexibility to cover a wide range of focal lengths, adapting to various shooting needs.
  • A Wide Angle Lens
For capturing epic landscapes with immersive foregrounds, a wide-angle lens is essential. A 16mm or 17mm lens on a full-frame camera (or 10mm to 12mm on an APS-C sensor camera) is ideal to capture expansive scenes with a sense of depth and presence
  • Telephoto Lens
A telephoto lens is ideal for distant landscapes and abstract shots, compressing the scene and bringing distant elements closer. A 70-200mm lens (or 55-135mm on a crop sensor) is perfect, especially for shooting mountains from elevation.
  • A Mid-Range Zoom Lens
While wide and telephoto lenses are essential, a mid-range zoom in the 24-70mm range (or 18-55mm on a crop sensor) is ideal for situations where the other lenses are either too wide or too long. This versatile range is perfect for the varied landscapes we'll encounter in Iceland.
  • Tripod
Given the frequent low-light conditions, A tripod is an essential piece of equipment. A Lightweight carbon fiber model is ideal for this trip, offering stability without adding excessive weight.
  • Filters
When shooting waterfalls, a neutral density filter with at least 3 stops is essential to slow down the exposure and create a smooth, blurred water effect. Additionally, a graduated filter can be useful to balance the brightness of the sky, particularly in high-contrast scenes where the sky is much brighter than the landscape. Both filters will help achieve more dynamic and well-exposed images.
  • A Laptop
A laptop equipped with Adobe Lightroom or Camera RAW and Photoshop is essential for efficient post-processing. These tools allow for precise adjustments to exposure, color, and details, ensuring your images are professionally edited and refined after the shoot. Once you have confirmed your booking with us, we will provide you with a complete list of items to carry, which will be shared through our WhatsApp group. Feel free to ask if you'd like further revisions.

    Questions? We've Got You

In October, Iceland experiences a milder winter transition. The average temperature ranges from 1ºC (34ºF) to 7ºC (45ºF).

While it’s colder than the summer months, it’s not as harsh as the deep winter, and the landscape is a mix of autumn colors and early snow. Snow and rain are common, so layering clothing (base, middle, and outer layers) is essential to stay warm and dry while navigating the unpredictable weather.

It’s also a great time to photograph both fall scenery and the start of winter’s icy touch

Your sense of adventure and fun, your camera and your

    sense of humor of course.

Besides that? When you book your seat, we’ll send you an information package that will give you further details and suggestions about what to bring.
