The safari kicks off in Maun, where your guide will greet you at 14:30 at Maun Airport. From there, you'll drive to Mababe. Your first night in Mababe will set the tone for what lies ahead. Arriving at camp just in time for sunset, you'll immerse yourself in the beauty and sounds of this extraordinary wilderness area. Nestled between the southern section of Chobe National Park and the Khwai and Moremi wildlife regions, this environment offers a blend of diverse habitats. The river channel meanders through the savannah, drawing a variety of animals that come to drink during the dry season and relish the lush grasses that follow the rains. Acacia woodlands provide shade during the heat of the day, home to large herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife. Early morning and afternoon game drives will provide the perfect opportunity to witness the raw beauty of nature. You'll also have the chance to embark on a night drive, experiencing a different kind of safari focused on wildlife that thrives in the dark. The Mababe private concession is owned by the local community, and as stewards of this pristine wilderness, they have implemented controls to limit visitor numbers, ensuring a truly special experience for you.Distance: Maun to Mababe: 120km | travel time: 2.5-3 hours | Meals: Day 1 - D, Days 2 & 3 - B, L, D
Your adventure will continue as we journey through the Moremi Game Reserve, stopping for a picnic lunch along the way. A leisurely game drive will lead you to your private campsite, where you will settle in for the next three nights. In Moremi Game Reserve, land and water converge to create a stunning landscape of waterways, lagoons, pans, floodplains, riverine forests, and woodlands. This remarkable diversity of habitats offers spectacular opportunities for game viewing and birdwatching. Daily game drives will reveal nature's best-kept secrets. On the second day of your Moremi adventure, you will have the chance to explore the enchanting deep water channels of Moremi during a three-hour boat activity (subject to water levels and environmental conditions).Distance: Mababe to Moremi: 90 km, leisurely full-day experience | Meals: B, L, D
Today, you will journey to the edge of the Okavango Delta by the Gomoti River, where you'll meet local community polers with their mekoro (dugout canoes). As you glide silently along the river channels and floodplains, you'll take in the stunning landscapes of this remarkable region, allowing you to venture deep into the Delta. Over the next two days, you'll explore this breathtaking area through mokoro excursions and guided nature walks on the islands and floodplains of the Okavango.Distance: Moremi to Okavango Delta: 90 km | Travel Time: 5 hours (transfer and game drive) | Meals: B, L, D
